Description: On April 18, 2009, participants gathered to take park in the Second Annual Parkinson 5K Run. This run is dedicated to providing funding and awareness of the plight of Parkinson patients. Parkinson is a disease which can affect anyone at any age. Most notable celebrity coping with this disease is Michael J. Fox. Kelly Pierson, coordinator of the American Parkinson Disease Association with East Texas Medical Center's Neuorological Institute, continues to oversee this event. She has been assisted by many volunteers which include Dr. George Plotkin, Medical Director of ETMC Movement Disorder Center and Eva Naomi Evans of the Early Onset Parkinson Support Group.
