- Description: Welcome Home Soldier honored Mr. Sam Garrison, age 86, one of the few surviving Tuskegee Airmen from World War II, on Wednesday, 02-25-09 at the North Tenneha Street Church of Christ at 6pm. Mr. Garrison was awarded the following: Air Force Combat Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, 2 Silver Stars, 2 Bronze Stars, Legion of Merit Medal, Flying Cross Medal and the Phillipine Liberation Medal for his service as one of the first black pilots.
