03-21-09 Cub Scout "Belt Loop Bonanza"
- Date: March 21, 2009
- Description: Cub Scouts from Wood and Smith Counties converged at the Mineola Civic Center for a ‘BELT-LOOP BONANZA’ on March 21, 2009. The ‘Belt Loop Bonanza’ was an all day event organized so that participating Cub Scouts from Smith and Wood Counties could earn up to 4 Belt Loops. Belt Loops are awards for accomplishments made in personal life experiences, and are worn on the Cub Scout’s belt. There were 14 different Belt Loops offered at this year’s event, with the focus being on Sports and Academics. Belt Loop stations available included Flag Football, Ultimate Frisbee, Basketball, Chess, Weather, Map & Compass, Conservation, among many others. Each activity was taught by older Boy Scouts and Venturing Crew volunteers, along with adult leader interaction. Photographs in this gallery were taken by TylerPaper.com Spotted! freelance photographer Paul Tompkins.
